Romance On The Court
Basketball, just like any other sport, can involve physical contact. So the notion of getting in contact with opponent players is very normal. Alan Anderson, however, might not have expected things to get so sensual as he appeared to be kissed in one of his games for the Toronto Raptors against the Lakers.
Anderson, who played for the Toronto Raptors from 2012 to 2013, averaged 9.6 points per game and was a polarising figure amongst fans. Although funny sporting moments occur in all types and forms, getting a peck from your opponent could be hilarious in more ways than one.
What Is He Looking For?
Mascots could be known for their crazy methods of engaging and entertaining audiences, and Phillie Phanatic, the official mascot for the Philadelphia Phillies, is well known for his bizarre approaches. He has become the most loved and iconic mascot, cheering his baseball team to many victories.
Although created to attract more families to the Veterans stadium, we can see he attracts more than that. And being the most litigated mascot, he will come for you when you least expect it, so make sure not to get in his way. As for whatever was happening in this picture, perhaps we’ll leave that to everyone’s imagination.
Sausage First
During a baseball game, a Los Angeles Dodgers fan was either caught up in the excitement of the game or just didn't care about making a mess. She was seen holding a delicious-looking hotdog with a lot of cheese, but instead of eating the combination together to avoid a mess, she went straight for the sausage.
Funny enough, even though several hilarious sports moments happen all over the world, many of them involving the L.A. Dodgers fans have been quite memorable. We hope she didn't make too much of a mess and could still cheer her team to victory.
What Game Is She Watching?
They say you can't have it all, and the Cleveland Browns are a good embodiment of that. The team is rarely known for its excellent sporting performances, but everyone has to admit they have some of the best sports fans. We can see two of them at this game against the Chicago Bears cheering their team on, even though one looks distracted.
But even while distracted, she still managed to show support, and maybe these fans were the reason for the Browns' 13-10 win against the Bears. Or maybe their fans are too beautiful for the opposing players that they can't seem to concentrate on the game.
Big Hairy Support
As a fan, showing support and love for your favorite sports superstar is welcomed. There are a few who go above and beyond, though. Our NASCAR fan here went all out with his outfit. A fan of Dale Earnhardt, he showed his support by shaving the number 3 on his back, which he famously used to have on his race car.
Earnhardt was killed instantly in 2001 due to a skull fracture in a final-lap collision. The 76-time Winston Cup winner crashed into a retaining wall. And although he may be gone, love from the fans of the American stock-car driver continues to live on.
Gymnastics Or Baseball?
Many popular and famous Americans, such as Chrissy Teigen, have been called to take the first pitch in baseball games, which has become a tradition. American gymnast McKayla Maroney, however, took a creative angle, which made it clear to everyone at the Chicago White Sox game that she is not a baseball player but a gymnast.
She performed a cartwheel and front flip to throw an easy toss to the catcher. Although not the best of pitches, the photographer caught her at an angle that showed her obvious lack of knowledge of baseball and a very flexible set of legs.
Is That A Technical?
We've gotten so used to perfectly timed photos that we tend not to take the time to appreciate what we are looking at. During a basketball game, two giants were battling against each other on the court, and a cameraman captured what seemed to be one player supporting the other in the air with just his palm.
Being so tall like this basketballer in the air undoubtedly opens up a variety of life experiences that others may not be opportune to have. A tall stature offers a wide range of motion, which is possibly why the player could jump high enough to end up in this position.
Strike To Tag
Photographers hardly get the credit they deserve. So, when photographer Brad Mangin got his first acknowledgment for taking this picture of Giants base runner Aubrey Huff being tagged out at the home plate by Phillies catcher Carlos Ruiz, he was ecstatic and promised to put the picture on his refrigerator.
The catcher, though, does appear to take his job very seriously by punching Huff to strike him out of the game. A little too direct, we might add. Although this looks a little violent, the full gameplay showed a very fast, smart, and entertaining piece of baseball play between these two players.
Is She The Prize?
The New York Islanders were the first NHL team to establish the cheerleader-style Ice Girls squad in 2001. The group was tasked with clearing snow off the ice during stoppages and carrying out various promotional tasks. A genius idea, right? Quickly, the group became popular, which is not surprising because who wouldn't love to be at a game with cheerleaders all around?
However, the Islanders Ice Girls came under a lot of scrutiny from a few who thought their occasionally provocative clothing was inappropriate and insulting to female fans. Unfortunately, these beautiful ladies are no longer allowed to do such a wonderful job because they were dismissed in 2015.
We Don't Come To Games To Play
Imagine having a model as a fan cheering you on during games and distracting your opponents. Sounds like the perfect fan, right? Well, she does exist. Kayla Simmons is that perfect fan. An ex-volleyball player turned modeling star, Simmons seemed keen on distracting the opposing pitcher at Dodgers Stadium. And her stunning looks only made it easier.
Simmons has over 567k followers on Instagram, and we can all see why. Kudos to her for using her gifts to help support her favorite team, even though she may just look this great wherever she goes. They ought to go on and win all the games she attends.
A Real Warrior
A sport is an activity that can give unforgettable and unimaginable memories to people over and over again. Being a sports club fan is one of life's greatest joys. Gladiators, as some sports professionals are called by their fans, give their time and energy to produce such captivating moments when performing.
You can then understand the pleasures and joys fans get from their heroes. This can be reflected in things like chants or, as in the case of this Warriors fan here, the amount of preparation, effort, and detail put into their costumes. Just take a look at the smile on his face. It’s priceless!
Head In The Game
A finals playoff game between The Dallas Mavericks and Miami Heat brought out not just the best in the athletes but also the creativity of fans. The evenly contested game was enthralling, and the winners came from behind to get the three points lead.
What caught the eye, though, was a Dallas fan who had painted his head to look like a basketball. A few felt the paint was excessive, but he got the desired result and got people talking. No one could disregard his commitment to the team and the game. You could say he has his head in the game.
A Professional Accident
If you have had to give a speech in front of a huge crowd, you might just have an idea of what it means to compete in ice skating. Overcoming the nerves alone is a lot of work, even though you still have to practice and hone your skills.
These ice skaters, unfortunately, couldn't handle their nerves and found themselves tumbling down onto the ice surface. The woman’s partner tried to help, but as the image shows, he only helped to give us this funny picture. All kidding aside, though, we must learn a valuable lesson here; even professionals can have accidents.
Eyes On The Ball
Women's volleyball is one of the most watched sports, especially by men. Looking at their outfits, you would get a hint as to why this is. The sport is dominated by female players, with more than 70 percent of volleyball players being women. It is such an elegant sport. From their athletic bodies to swimsuit-like kits, they offer viewers more than just sporting and competitive entertainment.
Photographers get good shots of incidents during their games; this is just one of many. The sport has been growing in viewership, and with photos like this coming out from highly contested games, it is no one's surprise.
Is Horseriding Allowed In Hockey?
Ice hockey is one of those sports where a little violence is not just allowed but encouraged. This draws in many fans and makes it a popular game. This American professional ice hockey team player from the Chicago Blackhawks took things to another level or appeared to do so anyway.
As we can see, he appears to be giving a piggyback ride during a game. Could this be a strategy to get the ball easily and win the game? More likely, though, it’s just a funny moment caught at the right time. Many hilarious moments occur in hockey frequently, but few of this nature.
How Not To Use A Waterbottle
As with many other sports, NHL players tend to use a lot of mental and physical skills frequently. However, can this player be excused for not knowing how to use a water bottle? Perhaps a lot of brain power has gone into his day job, and less power is available to figure out the water bottle.
The NHL has shown the globe the pinnacle of hockey talent and skill since it was founded in 1917. Some of the most knowledgeable and skilled people run multimillion-dollar hockey teams with enormous global fan bases. Hopefully, classes on how to use water bottles are added to the NHL training.
Over Padded
Three sets of shoulder pads can be seen on the shoulders of a rookie off-season Miami Dolphins player Travis Ivey as he makes his way to the locker room. One could say that his method of carrying shoulder pads is efficient and effective.
Rookies in sports go through all kinds of funny initiation rituals initiated by their senior teammates. The NFL is no different. Rookies are left with the burden of carrying senior players' shoulder pads after training sessions, and Ivey took upon this ritual with grace and the right attitude. Such a show of strength and maturity could earn one a place in the higher ranks of the team.
Romantic Sportsnight
Love is the most important thing in life, or at least, that is what most people think. Nothing is better than that feeling when you have someone to talk to and go on dates with. Now imagine how much better that could be if you both love the same sports team and bring in the same amount of fun, creativity, and effort. The photo above is the result.
Some say sports dates may not be romantic, but they can be fun. This couple came to the game with a terrific, eye-catching couple's costume, deserving of an award. And hopefully, their teams go on to win some accolades as well.
A Tan Fan
Famous NASCAR driver Dale Jr. was nearing his retirement, and one of his hardcore fans decided to pay him a tribute. He had the option of tattooing his favorite racer's number or sunburning it on his body, and he went with the second option. What a way to honor your hero.
Although Dale Earnhardt Jr. comes from a long line of stock-car racing enthusiasts, his aggressive driving style and commercial expertise are entirely his own. He is a third-generation driver whose family has been inextricably linked to the sport. We guess if you're going to get a sunburn for anyone, Earnhardt is that guy.
Too Hot For The Weather
During a game between the Minnesota Vikings and the Green Bay Packers of Wisconsin, a group of attractive young ladies got the attention of everyone with their uniform bikini outfits. They were rocking their Packers bikinis on a very cold day, which would make one wonder if they had a little too much to drink.
Nevertheless, having such gorgeous and courageous fans should definitely add some spice to the game. One could argue that they lift the morale of the crowd and make the place even more joyous. No matter what team one supports, having attractive girls in the crowd is always a plus, we guess.
A Captivating Sight
We can imagine that almost everyone would have wanted to be part of the cool kids in school. In most systems, that means being either a jock or a cheerleader. Now that even boys can join the squad, there's no telling just how much that changes the dynamics. Look at this picture, for instance.
This guy must have been part of the routine and ended up in the base position. We don't know how this went during practice, but perhaps no one prepared him for what would happen if he looked up. We only hope he didn't drop the Oregon Ducks cheerleader because of the distraction.
Is This Still Football?
This is quite hilarious to see, but you might have imagined it being embarrassing for the Patriots player who had his posterior revealed. However, the player in question is the famous Rob Gronkowski, so it's hard to say whether he finds this embarrassing, considering how he's always excited to take off his clothes just for show.
If you remember how he laid it all bare on the cover of ESPN's 2012 "Body Issue," you'll agree there's hardly anything embarrassing about this for him. But let's not forget the Ravens' Rashaan Melvin on the other end of this tackle. We can't imagine he was having a good day either.
Stadiums Are The New Runways
No matter the sport, fans are always excited whenever they get to watch a game in person at the stadium. However, some fans let the excitement get the better of them and they do very crazy things just like this model Kinsey Wolanski did.
During the Champions League final in 2019, she ran into the field in a bikini and brought the game to a halt. The soccer game being played at the time was between Liverpool and Tottenham. During this interruption, the screen was directed toward the Liverpool coach instead of Wolanski, but we're sure many would have liked to keep the focus on her.
The Viking King
There's no team that doesn't appreciate the support of their fans. It's even more amazing when the fan is very enthusiastic about showing support. Sports fans are among the best in that regard, if the outfit of this Minnesota Vikings fan is anything to go by.
We're quite impressed by this man's full Viking-inspired outfit and face paint. He even wore a belt and helmet to match. There are times that games like this have all tickets sold out and fans start selling theirs almost four to five times the original ticket price. We don't doubt that this man would have paid the extra costs just to be here.
A Revealing Discussion
Those seeing this for the first time must wonder what is going on here with these skimpy outfits at a football game. Interestingly, the league these ladies play in was initially called the Lingerie Football League before being restructured into the Extreme Football League in 2020.
Its former name seems more accurate for the sport, but calling this extreme may also be a proper description. We wonder how anyone pays attention enough to follow the game when the players look like this, especially the referees. In fact, many of them had been fired by the league for incompetent on-field officiating.
Beauty And Balls
Though we may have never considered ourselves baseball fans in the past, photos like this make us rethink that stance. It's a common practice in baseball games to have popular people and celebrities come and throw the first pitch.
This time, it's the Victoria's Secrets Angel Marisa Miller in a stunning baseball outfit, upholding the tradition at the Chicago Cubs game in 2008. Of course, stadiums would be filled with more people the more popular the first pitcher is. The idea to make this a tradition has to have come from an expert marketing consultant because it has made so many people interested in watching the games.
Bud Light Brand Ambassador
Many professional sports stars make a lot of cash from brand endorsements. And one of the perfect places for brands to advertise is at sports events. You'll notice how fields, courts, and stadiums are lade with advertising material, but this man carrying a Bud Light beer pack on his head has taken a very different approach.
With about a dozen empty cans hung around his neck like a piece of jewelry and a can in hand, he may be more of a drunken redneck than someone looking to advertise their product. Considering the beer brand is supposed to be light, his being intoxicated may be bad for their image.
A Mobile Bar
Judging from the number of beers this guy has packed in his transparent bag, one would think he was preparing to have a party. There's no way he plans to drink them all by himself. In case you were wondering, transparent bags are the go-to for sporting events like this because that's exactly what the rules are.
The NFL's bag policy says that small clutch purses are okay to carry. But if you're going to bring in a bigger bag like the one-gallon freezer bag, it has to be all clear with no part of the bag concealed, not even by the logo.
Baby Steps
What should an athlete do when faced with a hurdle during a race? Ideally, they're expected to go over the hurdle and not under it, but it's hard to fault anyone for taking baby steps. Of course, we're just kidding. That's not how the sport works. We're just trying not to be hard on the runner, Jessie Knight of Britain.
Knight found herself unable to clear the first hurdle of the women’s 400-meter hurdles during the heat at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Due to the pandemic, the event took place in July 2021, and she must have been embarrassed by this fall.
False Advertising
Sometimes, pictures can be deceiving. We almost believed these feminine legs belonged to the hockey players who were right above them. That would have been pretty strange, but it's exactly what the photographer must have wanted us to believe. It's funny how they fit perfectly into the image.
It's normal for companies to want their ads to stand out as much s possible. While they may not have factored this perfectly timed shot into their advertisement, it must have brought much attention to whatever product or service they were offering. We hope they found the photographer and compensated them properly.
Wrong Proposal
We definitely don't want to be the guy she's pointing to with her overly conspicuous arrow. But please, count us in for the role of Aaron if there's ever a casting call. The Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is an outstanding NFL player with millions of fans, including this woman who doesn't seem to mind leaving her partner for him.
It's hard to imagine that everything went well in her relationship after pulling this stunt. Some fans take things too far when showing love to their favorite stars. There's no way Aaron accepted that proposal, so she might have jeopardized her relationship for nothing.
Free Rides From The Mascot
Once a sport has cheerleaders and big, furry mascots as a part of it, you know it's an entertaining sport. Fans know that simply adding those two elements can make it much more exciting to watch, and the stadiums are usually more packed because they expect to have a fun display.
As you can see in this picture, the mascot is taking the lead in giving fans a delightful show by carrying the stunning cheerleader and running off with her while her friend simply watches. Not every team gets to have a mascot. And judging from the smile on the cheerleader's face, those that do have the most fun.
Gut Punch
We guess that must have hurt a lot; being punched in the gut by a woman in the photo of an ad. The hockey player is going along with that narrative through his body movement, or so it would seem. Apparently, his fall had nothing to do with the ad, but a photographer couldn't help but capture a perfectly timed shot.
Hockey is already a pretty dangerous sport, which has been linked to many head and neck injuries. That's why wearing protective gear like helmets, mouth guards, and shin guards is the norm. But all the protective gear couldn't prepare him for this make-believe punch.
Double Punishment
The idea of isolating players in a penalty box for offenses started as far back as the '30s. NHL players who committed violations would be packed awkwardly into a single space. After a fight broke out between two players sharing the single space in 1963, more boxes were made.
It's already disappointing enough to get sent into the penalty box, but this guy in the photo managed to make it look even worse. It's possible he didn't commit any offense to get in there because sometimes players are zooming so fast they could accidentally slip up and land in a penalty box.
Surf Wardrobe Malfunction
It's not easy to master the art of surfing as it can be a pretty tricky sport. The waves will not always be in your favor, and there's nothing you can do to control that. However, a few aspects of the sport are within your control; most importantly, your outfit.
In retrospect, Stephanie Gilmore could have been smarter about her outfit choice on this day when she was shooting for Vogue. She was surfing at Australia Bondi Beach for the magazine and nearly had a wardrobe malfunction because she wore a tube. Every surfer knows a wetsuit is a more ideal outfit.
A Dedicated Fan
With fans like this man, Jeff Kahlow, going all out in support of their favorite teams, you'll know the Green Bay Packers are top-rated in the NFL. However, they lost in this particular game against the New York Giants for the NFC Divisional Playoff at Lambeau. Still, their fans are undoubtedly winners with respect to the most detailed costume of the lot.
To date, we wonder whether that's real frozen ice on Jeff's face or it's some kind of prop. And it's easy to see just how deliberate he was by wearing dark shades with the name of the legendary Packers field inscribed on it.
The Incredible Seahulk
Unless one has been living under a rock, recognizing the Hulk should be as easy as telling land apart from water. Seeing this green guy making almost similar faces to the real thing surely brings a lot of memories. This type of energy is common to see in competitive sports like the NFL.
It's obvious that this superfan is a supporter of the NFL team, the Seattle Seahawks. His cap and the imprint on his chest say it all. There's a lot that fan support does for sports teams. Just seeing this guy's enthusiasm could lift their spirits and make them more determined to win.
The Water Robot Dance
Many sports can appear wacky when you see some pictures of people performing them. One of them that falls into that category is synchronized swimming. The amount of concentration needed for the swimmer to perform under and above water, in addition to the struggle of gasping for air while trying to maintain a smile, makes it common to see wild faces.
The photographer caught this Mexican swimmer in an awkward pose as she competed alongside her team during the Synchronized Swimming Team Finals in 2015. She even looks like she is doing the robot dance as part of her routine.
She's Finally Legal
It would appear that age is no longer a barrier for this girl—pardon us, we meant adult woman—to pursue her crush, NHL player Claude Giroux. We wonder how long she has been waiting to be of legal age for that reason. Unless we're getting things wrong, she only wanted to let him know she was now eligible to vote.
Whatever the case may be, we only hope that Claude got the message and took note of her age so that her effort in designing the cardboard wouldn't go to waste. Many NHL fans and sports fans, in general, usually get very creative with their signs, as you can see.
Normal Clothes Are Overrated
Whatever you thought was ideal to wear to a NASCAR show should be scrapped. Chris MacNicol, also known as the Talladega Tire Man, wearing nothing but a tire, seems to have set a new precedent for everyone to follow. Perhaps if like him, we also purchased a used tire from a racer, we'd always want to show it off during the races.
It was in 2004 that this man made that purchase and has been wearing the tire to NASCAR competitions ever since. We think the outfit suits him, even though most people would prefer he wore more than just a straw hat and suspenders with the tire.
