Genesis is celebrating its 10th birthday, and it is not holding back. The luxury auto brand, born from Hyundai, is charging forward with a fresh lineup of electric vehicles, hybrids, and jaw-dropping SUVs.
In just ten years, Genesis went from an underdog to a real contender. Now, it is aiming even higher. The company wants to sell 350,000 vehicles a year by 2030. And it is not waiting around. Genesis is getting ready to roll out its first hybrid, a full-size electric SUV, a tough off-roader, and even a high-performance EV. Big moves for a brand still finding its feet.
First Hybrids, 600-Mile EREVs, and a Whole New Lineup
Hyundai’s CEO confirmed the plan during its latest Investor Day. Genesis will kick things off with its first hybrid in 2026. Shortly after, we will see its first EREV, which combines a battery and a small gasoline engine for extended range. Hyundai says it will go over 600 miles on a single charge. That is more than any Tesla or Rivian right now.
Genesis / Instagram / Genesis is doubling down on design and luxury. Two new SUVs are in the works. The first is based on the Neolun concept.
Insiders expect it to arrive as the GV90, a massive, ultra-luxurious electric SUV built to compete with the likes of the Mercedes EQS SUV and Range Rover.
Flagship SUV and Rugged Off-Roader in the Works
The GV90 is expected to lead the pack, offering a new benchmark in Genesis styling, tech, and cabin design. If the Neolun concept is any hint, we are talking about coach doors, zero-gravity seating, and a cabin that feels more like a private jet than a car. It is aimed squarely at the high-end crowd.
Meanwhile, the X Gran Equator-inspired SUV brings muscle to the mix. Bigger wheels, a boxier frame, and outdoor-friendly features will separate it from Genesis’s city-friendly GV lineup. It is not just a “tough look.” Hyundai says it is building this one to handle actual trails, not just mall parking lots.
However, Genesis isn’t content with just quiet luxury. It is stepping into the fast lane with its new Magma brand. This new performance line starts with the GV60 Magma, expected to arrive by the end of the year. It has been spotted testing, and it looks fierce.
Genesis / Instagram / Genesis says that Magma is about pushing what EVs can do. Faster acceleration, sharper handling, and tech that makes you feel like you are driving something truly special.
The GV60 Magma is only the beginning. More Magma models are in the pipeline, and Genesis is targeting drivers who want speed without the noise or gas.
Genesis Eyes Global Growth and U.S. Domination
Since launching in 2015, Genesis has already sold over a million cars globally. That is no small feat for a new luxury brand. Now, it wants to take that momentum and break into more global markets. Europe is high on the list, with plans to expand into up to 20 countries.
However, the U.S. remains the core market. The first hybrid Genesis vehicles are expected to hit American roads in 2026. Expect more announcements, teasers, and concept reveals as the release dates get closer. Genesis is clearly betting big on the shift to electric, but it is not forgetting buyers who still want range, style, and power.
